Hi, I'm interested in buying an Aten CS1912 KVM switch. But before I do, I'd like to have answers to some questions:

    - With my setup (see below), do I need to get an externally powered DisplayPort-to-HDMI/DVI DP++ adapter? My monitor is a Samsung Syncmaster 2433 (pretty old). The video cable is plugged into it's DVI-D port, and at the other end there's a DVI-D to DisplayPort adapter that is plugged into that PC DisplayPort connector, which works flawlessly (my new PC has a GTX 1070 and I intend to use one of it's DisplayPort to connect it to the KVM). So, should that setup work with the switch without any supplementary adapters, and if not, what would be the cost of such adapter(s)?

    - I live in Montreal, Canada. I'd like to know how much would the shipping cost if I order the switch, and how long should it take before I received it (approximately)?

    Regards,

    Andre

Being that CS1912 is a DisplayPort USB KVMA/KVMP switch, and being that your current DVI-D to DisplayPort adapter you're using for your display is working well, you should be able to use it with connecting your monitor to CS1912 as well. That being said - adapter compatibility is hard to predict. You will know for sure whether the two can work together only after you actually make the connection. Otherwise, you may want to look at DVI-DisplayPort adapters we offer.

Thanks for the info. I've check the shipping charges (very nice that it's possible to have an estimate without having to order). I sent an email to UPS about the shipping time. Unless UPS tells me that delivery will take a very long time, I will order the switch. Hopefully, they'll reply soon (it's supposed to be winthin 24 hours).
