IP KVM over IP with no video

I'm looking for a KVM over IP solution that works via the Internet and can handle mouse keyboard and audio. I do not need video... I understand most things come with video but I will be using PCoip for that. If the only things that can do what I need have video it's fine so long as they don't require one to use the video for them to work.

I need the device to be platform agnostic (Mac, Linux, Windows) and not require a computer from the client side to operate.

In a perfect world the system in the remote location would be video via PCoip then the "box" transferring the mouse keyboard and speakers plugged in on one side and Ethernet out the the other running over VPN across the internet and then another Ethernet on the other side to a "box" that has USB keyboard, USB mouse, and audio via headphone jack plugged into the server.

The devices would need next to zero latency for mouse keyboard and audio.

    Is there such a thing?

    Allen,

Interesting setup indeed. Can you please provide some additional info so that we can point you in the right direction?
    1) How many PCs are you looking to control over IP? One? or multiple? (if multiple - how many)
    2) What type of video output does the PC have? VGA? DVI? HDMI? Other?
    3) What type of audio output is supported by the PC? 3.5mm? other?

Hello and thanks for getting back to me!
    1) How many PCs are you looking to control over IP? One? or multiple? (if multiple - how many)
Currently I am just trying to control one, however once tests go well my goal is to control many.
    1, then 10, then 40+
    2) What type of video output does the PC have? VGA? DVI? HDMI? Other?
The server side pc has DisplayPort out and converts to mini DisplayPort to the input of the PCoip Remote Access Card
    3) What type of audio output is supported by the PC? 3.5mm? other?
    Yes 3.5mm only

    For one computer
    =============
AdderLink Infinity 1002T at the computer and AdderLink Infinity 1002R at the remote-user location should work.

This is assuming that you can configure static IPs on the units. You may need to configure some port or IP forwarding on your firewalls/gateways but for USB and audio only this setup should work.

Will you be controlling each computer from a dedicated remote console? or would you like to use one remote console to control multiple computers, being able to switch from one computer to another from a single remote console?

Thank you again for you help. I was hoping that there would be something a little less costly as I don't need video, and for some reason thought that would be the expensive part. Between the PCoip Remote access card, the zero client and these AdderLink boxes it would place the cost of remote access to one computer at around $5,000.

Do you think something like the Aetn CE790 could do the job over site to site vpn?

To answer your last question, this solution is to enable remote workers of high-end computers. Although controlling multiple machines would be nice for a few workers it's not necessary as most only work on one machine.

CE790 is designed for local network segments only and cannot be used over the Internet because it cannot be configure with a gateway address.

As an alternative to the AdderLink Infinity you may want to look at KE6900 which should work very similarly. Either one, you'd probably want to keep a monitor handy in case you need to verify configuration.

In this case you may want to use a Dominion KX III switch (choose a model with a port-count that matches the number of controlled computers). On the remote end, instead of using a computer, you could use Dominion KX III User Station.
