I have two devices in close proximity each supporting 6 monitors. Want to find a KVM solution that eliminates one set of six DVI monitors. Any suggestions?

The multi-screen KVM switches we offer typically support up to four (quad) video heads per computer.

Smart-AVI multi-screen KVM switches, however, can be linked together via their RS-232 port and can be fitted with firmware that, in effect, will make the two linked boxes act as one.

[IMG]When you switch between computers using a hot-key keyboard combination, the 'master' switch (say the quad switch) will send a command to the 'slave' switch (say the duo switch) to also switch to the same computer port.

From each computer, you will connect four (4) video heads to the quad switch and the remaining two (2) video heads to the duo switch. All connection will be to the corresponding channel ports: Computer "A" to Channel A; Computer "B" to Channel B.

The special firmware is loaded into the boxes with no extra cost. The only additional cost will be for the serial cable.

Choose between the single-link and the dual-link models based on your required resolution.

Finally, make sure to add notes to your online order indicating that you need the two boxes linked via RS-232 to support six video outputs per computer.

You could use the AdderView 4 Pro Multiscreen. You'd need to use two (one double and one quad or two triples) to support the six monitors.

[IMG]AV4PRO-DVI units can be connected together so that they operate in a synchronized manner (one master and one servant) . Thus, two AV4PRO-DVI units can be made to switch two video heads in a similar manner to an AVPRO- DVI-DUAL. Additionally, two AVPRO-DVI-DUAL units could be made to resemble an AVPRO-DVI-QUAD, while two AVPRO-DVI-QUAD units could be combined in order to switch up to eight video heads simultaneously.

Whenever an AV4PRO-DVI channel is switched, it sends an RS232 command out on its serial interface (marked OPTIONS on the rear panel). An AV4PRO-DVI will switch its channel if it receives the same command on its serial interface. Consequently, by linking the serial interfaces, a master unit may be made to automatically switch one or more servant units.

The just-released AdderView DDX system, with its flexible ability to be configured for multi-screen applications, can support up to ten dual-video computers with up to 5 consoles; up to seven triple-video computers with up to 3 consoles; up to five quad-video computers with up to 2 consoles.

In this case, it can easily be configured to support one console with six monitors controlling two computers - each with six video heads.
