    Hi,

I am looking for a KVM device that can switch ten (10) video source to five different displays. Basically a 10 input and 5 output switch.

Can you help me find a device?

    Thanks.

    Hello Giang,

Thank you for reaching out. We have a few clarifying questions:
    1) What type devices are the source of the 10 video inputs?
    2) What type of video interface do the 10 video-sources have?
    3) What type of video interface do the 5 displays have?
    4) Are you looking to switch video only? or do you also need to switch keyboard/mouse control?

    Please advise.

    Giang,

Such a matrix can be accomplished in a number of different ways:

    1) The best way to accomplish this is by utilizing a video over IP matrix on an Ethernet network (or KVM over IP if you also want USB support for, say, a keyboard).

Deploy a Transmitter unit by each of your sources. Deploy a Receiver unit by each of your screens. Connect all units to a (dedicated) 1Gb Ethernet network and Voila!

Please note that some of these systems come with software that allows you to control and manage the matrix, while others require software/hardware supporting the matrix be purchased separately.

    2) Another way to accomplish this, especially if you're looking for video-only support and want to stay away from Ethernet networking is deploying a matrix video switch such as these that supports the number of inputs and outputs you need. These switches are self contained and provide built-in means to manage and control the matrix.

    Finally...
Not sure what kind of RS-485 keyboard you are referring to, as PCs typically interface with a keyboard via USB. Please advise.

    Hope this helps!
