Matrix Matrix video system

We're looking to set up a system that will allow us to route, at will, about 8 different video sources to about 14 different screens.

Video sources and screens are located in different rooms of a building.
    Video resolution should support 4K.

We prefer a Video over IP solution over a matrix switch with a fixed number of ports.

A number of requirements we'd like to see available in this system include:

    a) The ability to wirelessly stream video from an iPad or a laptop onto any screen

    b) The ability to wirelessly stream video from an IP camera (which typically is focused on a presenter) onto any screen (camera outputs video in H.264 format)

    c) The ability to blank out any screen

    d) The ability to turn screens on/off

    e) Scheduling screens to turn on/off

    f) Scheduling multiple presets, each defining a source to be displayed on a screen or on multiple screens

Please recommend a system that may accomplish this task.

    Hello again,

Conceptually, AV over IP systems are designed to connect to video sources (using video cables coming out of the sources) and distribute the signal over a network to screens. A Transmitter facilitates the connection to the video-source, while a Receiver facilitates the connection to the screen (using a video cable).

Typically, managing such a system is accomplished by using a vendor-provided software. Such software may come included (for free), or may be available for purchase (typically depending on the size of the matrix). Some vendors offer an optional controller box which enhances the management capabilities and simplifies installation and deployment.

These AV over IP systems, however, do not typically offer capabilities that go beyond managing the signal routing, and do not support bringing in video that is not sourced via a video cable.

    And so...

Not wirelessly, but rather using a Lightening to HDMI adapter, with an HDMI cable connecting the adapter to a Transmitter.

    Supported on some systems only.

However, we are researching for you a more robust system (albeit more expensive) that will provide you with all the additional functionality you requested, including:
    - Wirelessly streaming video from an iPad
    - Streaming video from an h.264 IP camera
    - Turning screens on/off
    - Scheduling

    Stay tuned!
