I have a Mac Studio, Lenovo Thinkpad and an Apple Studio Display. Trying to share the display with the two computers using a switch. I need one that supports thunderbolt/USB C. Are there switches that work with the Apple Studio Display? Thanks.

    Hello Evan,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

Yes. But before we can point you in the right direction, we need some additional information about your setup:
    1) Are you looking to only "share the display between the two computers using a switch"? or are you also looking to share a keyboard and mouse between the two computers using a switch?
    2) What version of Thunderbolt do you have?
    3) What type of video connector(s) does your Mac Studio have?
    4) What type of video connector(s) does your Lenovo Thinkpad have?
    5) What type of video connector(s) does your Apple Studio Display have?
    6) What type (and how many) USB connectors does your Mac Studio have?
    7) What type (and how many) USB connectors does your Lenovo Thinkpad have?

    Please advise.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

    1. I’m only looking to share the display. I have separate keyboards and mice that connect via bluetooth.
    2. I believe the Mac Studio is Thunderbolt 4.
    3. DisplayPort and Thunderbolt 4. I’m assuming Thunderbolt is the way to go.
    4. USB C and HDMI. I’m assuming USB C is better for this purpose.
    5. Thunderbolt only.
    6. 1 Thunderbolt and 3 other USB C downstream connectors.
    7. 2 USB C and 1 USB type A.

I actually have two Apple Studio Displays and the hope is when I find a switch that works I can have 1 switch per display and then use both displays for either the Mac or the Thinkpad or 1 and 1.

    Thanks.

    Hello again,

In which case, you do not need a KVM switch, but rather only a video switch.
That being said, we are currently not aware of the existence of a reliable video switch that supports a Thunderbolt monitor.

Two switches (1 switch per display) would not accomplish this. What you would need is a 2x2 matrix video switch.

    Hope this helps!
