I have a Windows based CPU in a server room with a KVM extender going to the end user in a control room. The user is not looking control the CPU from two different control rooms.
The setup includes a single monitor, USB keyboard and mouse.
We would have Ethernet home runs to each location, or have the capability of doing KVM over IP if that is needed.
They want to be able to see and control from either location.
Only one person needs to be able to control at a time so if a user sees that someone is logged in at the other location they will wait until they log off or call and ask them to log off.

    Hello Andrew,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

What type of video does the CPU support? VGA? DVI? HDMI? DisplayPort?
    Please advise.

We are using DisplayPort but the computers also have HDMI capibility if needed.

A 1) One-to-Many KVM over IP or 2) Reverse KVM setup will accomplish this for you.

    1) A KVM over IP system supporting HDMI may be the easiest, cleanest way to go. You will need 1x Transmitter unit (by the computer) and 2x Receiver units (at each console location). All three boxes must then get connected to a (preferably dedicated) Ethernet network. Note: Similarly, KVM over IP systems supporting DisplayPort are also available, albeit more expensive.

    2) A traditional Reverse KVM system such as VOPEX USB/DVI/HDMI KVM Splitter can also be used, although it does not have CATx extension built into it. You will need to deploy 2x HDMI KVM extenders in order to accommodate the extension of the two consoles to their remote locations over CATx (NOT an IP network).

    Hope this helps!
