Will your ATEN CS1942DP work with third party DisplayPort to HDMI cables?

    Hello Ronald,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter and sorry for the delayed response.

The answer to your question depends mostly on how are you looking to use these cables.

If you're looking to connect CS1942DP to HDMI computers by using these cables, then you will probably encounter delays in switching and video issues. This is due to CS1942DP, as a DisplayPort switch, not performing video emulation but rather leaving that task to the DisplayPort protocol to do. If your computers are HDMI, then the needed information communicated between the computers to the monitor (via the KVM switch) will be missing since your computers are not DisplayPort.

As a rule of thumb, especially with DisplayPort, your want to keep all video sources (computers) and video destinations (monitor) using the same type of video interface.

If you're looking to connect CS1942DP to an HDMI monitor by using this cable, you shouldn't experience any issues if this cable is an active converter.

    Hope this helps!
