I need a 2-port KVM for 2 laptops that run on HP docks, that will support USB mouse and keyboard and dual monitors.

One monitor is a display-p (DisplayPort), and the other is a SVGA.

Can you provide 2 of these?

We need a few clarifications to your request:

    1) Are you looking to set up the dual-monitors so that they can support extended desktop (with the ability to move the mouse cursor from side to side across the two screens)?

    2) To accomplish this, both your docking stations need to have two video outputs each - is this the case?

    3) If #2 is affirmative - What type of video outputs do the two HP docks have?

Typically, a computer (or docking station) supporting dual video for extended desktop utilizes two identical video outputs. The same applies to dual-video KVM switches.

Since both your docking station and both your monitors use two different types of video outputs (DisplayPort and VGA), you will need to use adapters.

The main factor in selecting the right KVM switch should be the max resolution each laptop is running.

You could use a less-expensive dual-video VGA KVM switch, or a more expensive dual-video DisplayPort KVM switch.

Based on your selection, you will also need VGA-DisplayPort adapters to adapt to the port-type supported by your selected switch.

The main factor in selecting the right KVM switch should be the max resolution each laptop is running. YES, 1920, x 1200, will the VGA KVM device you referenced provide this resolution, or will I have to go to the more expensive DisplayPort device? Thank you for your help with this selection process.

    You are quite welcome!

If you click the SPECS tab of each one of these products, you will see the resolution each one supports. The two dual-video VGA KVM switch we've listed each supports max resolution that exceeds 1920x1200.
