Splitter Is VS1808T a good choice?

I'm looking to send and HDMI signal (that will be coming from a digital-signage media player) to eight (8) HDMI screens, at about 200 feet away from the source.

    I was looking at VS1808T.

Is this a good choice? Or would you recommend a different product?

What else is required to complete this setup?

VS1808T will do the job for you. You will also need one VE800AR receiver unit for each one of your screens (you can find it listed at the bottom of the VS1808T product page).

    BUT....

    1) VS1808T is an older product, requiring two CAT-5 runs for each port. While the DDC run is not mandatory, it is highly recommended for keeping the screen and the original HDMI signal in sync, especially in regard to the signal's resolution.

    2) VS1808T supports 200 foot extension. It is typically a good practice to deploy a device which supports a distance greater than the distance you're running, to offset signal degradation due to cable quality, patch-panel connection and overruns.

    THAT SAID...

Have a look at VS1818T. It...
    - Is a newer model
    - Supports 330 feet extension
    - Uses modern HDBaseT technology
    - Requires only one CAT-5 run per port
    - Supports higher resolution

VS1818T too requires a receiver unit for each screen - model VE812 (you can find it listed at the bottom of the VS1818T product page).
