Switch 1 PC, 5 individually selectable displays (HDMI)

    This is the reverse of what KVMs are typically used for.
    I am looking to have 1 PC capable of switching its HDMI video output to any of 5 displays attached to a KVM switch or splitter.

    This is for a lab set up where we need to test video output to different screen manufacturers. We do not require that the displays show content on more than 1 display simultaneously.

    While I see that HDMI switchers typically have 1 HDMI output and various inputs (typically the output is for a display, inputs are for PCs or other sources), I am not sure whether I can do the reverse of this and use the inputs as connections to each display monitor and the output port as the primary video connection the PC.

    I see various products on your site, but unsure which will do this. The switch/splitter must allow the ability to select which output the video would go to.

    Alex,
    Since you have only one PC and looking to only control the PC's video-output, you don't need a KVM.

    You could use an HDMI video splitter, but such a device will send the video to all of your screens simultaneously.
    The ability to select the screen to which a video signal is set is typically built-in to matrix video switches. In your case you will have only one video source (your PC), but such a matrix switch will allow you to send the video to one screen at a time, and control which screen the video is sent to.
    You might want to take a closer look at these models:
