Looking for a 4 port KVM (video switch) that has IP remote capability to interface with separate KMM (keyboard/monitor) unit.
Must be 1 RU height, preferably something industrial or meets military environment mil specs.

    Respectfully,
    DG

    Hello Dave,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

Assuming you are looking to control 4 computers, remotely, over IP, you will need a KVM over IP switch. Unfortunately, these are not made as small as to support only 4 computers, so the smallest version is an 8-port. All models are 1U in height.
Not sure what military environment mil specs you are referring to.

    Hope this helps!

    Thank you for reply provided.
If I may, here are the requirements I am looking for:
    • 4 or 8 port KVM
    • IP accessible/controllable from a separate KMM (keybd/ 1 monitor/mouse) unit
    • VGA (KVM) to VGA/USB (connected server) interfacing
    • KVM needs to be able to boot up during or after connected devices have completed their boot up processes
      • I have come across other KVMs that require bootup before connected servers…this will not work in this application.
    • 1 RU high, preferable less than 12” wide
    • 0-50 degree C operating range
    • Proposed unit will have US Military mil-spec testing applied as part of acceptance (EMI /Vibration/Shock)
    • Mil-Std 901D (Shock)
    • Mil-Std 461G (EMI)
    • Mil-Std 167 (Vibration)
I hope this provides additional clarification in the search for a suitable KVM.
    Please advise
    Respectfully,
    Dave G

    Correction to previous post....

    • 4 or 8 port KVM
    • VGA accessible/controllable from a separate “local” KMM (keybd/ 1 monitor/mouse) unit
    • IP accessible/controllable from an ethernet connected device (remote device)
    • VGA (KVM) to VGA/USB (connected server) interfacing
    • all other provided info remains unchanged.

    Dave,

Being that you need VGA local access, your available selection has gone down to these 6 products: 3x from ATEN; 2x from Vertiv-Avocent; 1x from Raritan.

Out of the 3x from ATEN, only CS1708i has a 0-50C operating range. The others are 0-40C.
None of them have any Mil-Std tests applied.

We're still researching Vertiv-Avocent and Raritan products for you.

    Stay tuned...

    Dave,

Raritan Dominion LX II 108 has a 0-40C operating range.
It does not have Mil-Std tests applied.
