    I want to set up 8-10 computers in a rack, each computer supporting 3 video outputs @ 1080p.

    About 100 feet away from the rack I want to set up 8-10 independent users. Each user will be sitting in front of a console consisting of 1x keyboard, 1x mouse and 3x monitors. Each user should at any given time be able to gain access and have control over anyone of the computers in the rack, displaying its video across the 3 monitors.

    Can you recommend a solution that will accommodate this setup?

    Hello Amit,

    Thank you for reaching out.

    Yes! This can be accomplished using a KVM over IP system, utilizing a dedicated 1Gb or 10Gb Ethernet LAN.

    Conceptually, each source (computer) gets connected to Transmitters, sending 3x video and USB signals from the computer to the user consoles over the network.

    Each user console (with its three monitors, 1x keyboard and 1x mouse) gets connected to Receiver units.

    A management appliance (or software running on a computer on the same network) will be required in order to facilitate the matrix routing.

    Following are bills of material for such a solution from a number of different manufacturers:

    AdderLink INFINITY
    ================

    For each computer:
    1x ALIF2020T-US (accommodating 2x video connections)
    1x ALIF100T-DVI (accommodating 1x video connection)

    For each User:
    1x ALIF2020R-US (accommodating 2x video connections)
    1x ALIF1002R-US (accommodating 1x video connection)

    Management:
    1x AIM-24-US
    1x AIMLIC-48

    Management with eecommended redundancy
    2x AIM-24-US
    1x AIMLIC-48-BCK (includes primary and back up license)

    ATEN KE6900
    ===========

    For each computer:
    3x KE6900T (each accommodating 1x video connection)

    For each User:
    3x KE6900R (each accommodating 1x video connection)

    Management:
    1x CCKM (running on any computer on the same network)

    kvm-tec MX1-2000
    ==============

    For each computer:
    3x MX1-L2000 (each accommodating 1x video connection)

    For each User:
    3x MX1-R2000 (each accommodating 1x video connection)

    Management:
    1x Included Matrix Switching System supporting up to 480 endpoints (running on any computer on the same network)

    We are working on a schematic diagram for you depicting this conceptual setup. Stay tuned!

    Hello again, Amit,

    Please have a look at the diagram depicting the kvm-tec MX1-2000 system for your setup.

    AdderLink INFINITY and ATEN KE6900 are setup in a similar fashion, with the addition of INFINITY AIM-24-US (for management) on the same network, or ATEN CCKM running on anyone of your 10 computers.

    Hope this helps!
