Multi-view KVM solutions for Samsung G9

I need to find the best KVM for my office set-up (see below):

    1 Microsoft Surface Laptop 2023
1 MacBook Pro M1 Laptop 2020 (but may get an updated one soon if that matters)
1 SAMSUNG 49" Odyssey G93SC Series OLED Curved Gaming Monitor
    1 set of peripherals

The monitor comes with a PIP/PBP mode, so I can connect both laptops to the monitor and view them both simultaneously. However, the resolution for the surface and MacBook do not come out looking right and none of the resolution options in settings for either device is ideal. So maybe it would be best to connect both computers and peripherals direct to the KVM, though it's important that I'm able to view both computers simultaneously.

I've attached a screenshot of the ports on the monitor.

    Thank you.

    Hello ERH,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

It looks like you're looking for a MultiView KVM switch.

All MultiView KVM Switches we offer support a minimum of 4 computers (obviously you will only be connecting two).
You're better off going with HDMI video connection (as opposed to DisplayPort), thus elimination any EDID issues.
If your Surface and MacBook do not have an available HDMI port to make the video connection to the KVM switch, you will be able to create on by using a USB video adapter on each computer.
Finally, each of your Surface and MacBook will need to have 1x available USB Type-A port to make the USB connection to the KVM switch (one such USB connection will support both keyboard and mouse).

    Hope this helps!

Thank you. A few additional questions:

    1. I understand that the Multi View KVM Switches you offer support a minimum of 4 computers, but could you still use these with only 2 or 3 computers if you wanted to?
    2. Do the KVM switches provide power to the computers? I ask because both laptops only have 2 ports available and they will both be used in the setup you describe above (one for monitor and one for peripherals)

    Thanks

    Yes!

No (unfortunately). But if you're going to use a USB-HDMI video adapter, you can use one that supports Power Delivery.

    Hope this helps!

I'm a little confused about this statement from earlier in the thread:

Finally, each of your Surface and MacBook will need to have 1x available USB Type-A port to make the USB connection to the KVM switch (one such USB connection will support both keyboard and mouse).

I assumed that I would have a wired connection (or dongle) from a stand-alone keyboard to the KVM and a wired connection (or dongle) from a mouse to the KVM, both in the KM USB-A ports. But in your statement above, you are talking about going from the computer to the KM ports. Can you clarify?

Are there any KVMs that allow for a bluetooth connection between peripherals and the KVM?

You assume correctly! But in order for the keyboard/mouse connected to the KVM switch to control keyboard/mouse functionality of the attached computers, a wired USB connection must be made between each computer to the KVM switch.

    No.

    Hope this helps!
