IP Raritan Dominion KX III 808 IP Control

Discussion in 'KVM' started by Jeff Alexander, Sep 25, 2024.

  1. I have a scenario where the KXIII is going to be used to select one of 6 rack mounted PCs from one of 6 different rooms with a room control system.

The room control system is Atlona Velocity and can send various types of commands over IP.
Can the matrix switch receive IP commands (text string, TCP, UDP, XML, HTTP) to connect a given PC to the desired room?

If so is there documentation? If not, is there a better way?

    Thanks!!

    Hello Jeff,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

Sorry for the belated response - It took a while to research this to an, unfortunately, non-positive conclusion.

This type of control is not a suitable application for the Raritan Dominion KX-III KVM-over-IP switch.

The Dominion KVM-over-IP line of products has no way to automate a connection between a connected computer to a user-station session.

Raritan's team has gone down this path previously to try and develop a custom application use for a client and it ended up being very problematic and also caused many security concerns.

    Hope this helps!
