I currently am looking for a KVM switch to handle working from home. Here's my computers along with their available outputs.
    • Desktop with a GTX 4070 TI
      • 3x DisplayPort 1.4a
      • 1x HDMI 2.1
    • Dell XPS 15 9520 Laptop
      • 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 with DisplayPort.
      • 2x Thunderbolt 4 (USB4) Type-C ports with Power Delivery
    • 2x Acer KG241Y (1920 x 1080)
      • 1x Display Port 1.2
      • 2x HDMI 2.0
    • Peripherals
      • Wireless mouse (USB-A receiver)
      • Wired keyboard (USB-A)
      • Wired webcam (USB-A)
      • Wired headset with microphone (USB-A)
What KVM switch(es) would you recommend? I tried a CMSTEDCD SW223, but I could never get my laptop to run through it and finding any kind of support for it was impossible.

    Hello JW2,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

We are assuming you're looking to control your 2x computers through 1x keyboard, 1x mouse and 2x (extended desktop) screens, while sharing USB webcam and headset - Is this correct?
If yes - you will need a DisplayPort Multi-Screen KVM Switch (being that your desktop and your monitors both support DisplayPort).

We are not familiar with CMSTEDCD SW223 so we cannot comment on this.

We are assuming these are your 2x monitors- Is this correct?

We cannot guaranty that your wireless keyboard/mouse would work with any KVM switch, being that - generally speaking - KVM switches do not work well with wireless keyboard/mouse.

Being that your laptop does not have DisplayPort connections, you will need 2x USB-C to DisplayPort video adapters, so that you could make two video connections from the laptop to the KVM switch.

We recommend SM-EDPN-2D that supports DisplayPort across the board, along with EDID and USB peripheral sharing.
    - Make 2x DisplayPort video connections to 2x DisplayPort ports on your desktop.
    - Make 2x DisplayPort video connections to 2x USB-C to DisplayPort video adapters for your laptop.
    - Make 1x USB (Type-A to Type-B) connection to your desktop.
    - Make 1x USB (Type-A to Type-B) connection to your laptop using a USB adapter.
    - Make 2x DisplayPort video connections from the KVM switch to both your monitors (1x connection per monitor).
    - Connect a keyboard and a mouse to the designated USB Type-A ports on the KVM switch.
    - Connect your webcam and headset to the designated USB (Type-A) peripheral-sharing ports on the KVM switch.
    And you are all set!

    Hope this helps!
