Reverse KVM KVM switch for 1 comp -> 2 workstations in a house, different floors

My main computer is in the home office area on the main floor of the house, with 2 monitors connected to it. The problem is, sometimes the house is very noisy and I'm thinking of setting up a secondary workstation in the main bedroom upstairs (which is directly above the current location).

So I need a KVM solution that will let me switch control to either location from either location. If there is a wireless solution that works extremely well, I'll consider it, but I'm more inclined to trust KVM over Ethernet (or fiber-optic). Since the locations are directly above each other, I can drill a small hole in the ceiling or the crown moulding, for the cable penetration.

I'm seeing a lot of options out there, but none of them seem to be what I need - either KVMs designed for "local" application", or "KVM extenders" which don't give me the bidirectional control (i.e. I can get the signal extended to the other floor, but what happens if I need to switch to the other location?).

If someone can recommend a solution that works for this specific configuration (2 locations separated by 25-30 feet, with Ethernet "bridge", and the ability to control either location from either location), it would be greatly appreciated!

Another issue with the "extenders" is that I really don't want to (1) pay separately for a KVM and an extender and (2) deal with compatibility or technical issues. I'd rather have 1 solution that has 2 "halves" separated by a wired "bridge", with switching on each end.

    Hello nathank9000,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

To access one computer from two separate consoles you need a Reverse KVM. Conventional Reverse KVMs, however, only support a console with a single monitor.

A KVM over IP solution that supports dual-video will do the job for you. Typically you will need to deploy:
1x Transmitter unit (by the computer)
2x Receiver units (each by each console)
1x Ethernet switch, to which you will connect the Transmitter and the Receivers.

Alternatively, you could deploy a Transmitter that supports local access, avoiding the need for a Receiver for the console that is in proximity to the computer (so you will need only 1x Transmitter unit (by the computer) and 1x Receiver unit (by the remote console).

    Hope this helps!
