    Hello,

One of my customers has a Vertiv SCMV2160DPH secure KVM switch and they are trying to use two sets of mice, keyboards at two different locations. Normally I could just use a USB hub for this but it doesn't work. I did notice however that the Vertiv SCUSBHIDFilter has two USB ports going to one so....I'm wondering if this will work to connect both the mouse and keyboard to each of the USB ports on the KVM? If not, then let me know if there might be a different solution.

    Thanks - Dave W.

    Hello Dave,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

Your intention of using 2x SCUSBHIDFilter - each plugged into one USB port on the console section of the SCMV2160DPH secure KVM switch - in order to facilitate the operation of two sets of mice/keyboards with the SCMV2160DPH secure KVM switch is NOT what SCUSBHIDFilter is originally intended to accomplish.

We have asked Vertiv people 4 times by now to confirm whether using 2x SCUSBHIDFilter as you described will accomplish your goal, but we are yet to receive their response. We will update you once we do.

    Hello Dave,

    Thank you for your patience.

Per NIAP, secure KVM switches will not allow mass hubs.

We were, however, able to confirm that it is possible with the Secure USB HID Filter to use multiple keyboards and mice, even though it is not the normal use case.

    Hope this helps!
