Multi-screen KVM with Video adapter?

Discussion in 'KVM' started by Philip, Feb 26, 2025.

    Greetings-

I have a use case where we have 2 laptops and 2 external monitors. I am looking for a traditional KVM that also has at least one built in video adapter. Does something like this exist?

Alternatively, I could use a pair of USB-to-HDMI adapters and a conventional KVM.

Any recommendations on device? Thank you.

    Hello Philip,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

Not sure what you mean by this: a "built in video adapter" that adapts from what to what?

Assuming you are looking for a multi-screen KVM switch supporting 2x monitors (for extended desktop) and switching between 2x computers, please note that each laptop must have the capability of sending out 2x video feeds.
If your laptops already have 1x HDMI port, then you only need to connect 1x USB to HDMI video adapter to each laptop. If they don't, then you can utilize a USB to HDMI video adapter that supports two screens.

Once each of your laptops has 2x HDMI video feeds, you can connect those video feeds to a dual-video-head KVM switch supporting HDMI.

    Hope this helps!
