I have a MacBook Pro and a PC.
I want to connect the Macbook to through the KVM to the PC monitor and switch between the PC and the mac. Can anyone direct me what I can buy?

Also, I have an external Apple keyboard that I want to connect to the KVM because it is more comfortable when I'm working on the mac.

    Hello nitai,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

This should not be an issue assuming your Apple keyboard is a USB keyboard. You will be able to use your Apple USB keyboard with any KVM switch you choose that supports USB.

This will depend on the type of video your equipment has. Please advise the following:
    1) What type video connector(s) does your Macbook have?
    2) What type video connector(s) does your PC have?
    3) What type video connector(s) does your monitor have?

Being that both your PC and your monitor have DVI, you should go with a KVM switch that supports DVI.

You will need to create a DVI port from your USB Type-C port on your Macbook by using one of these USB video adapters.

    Hope this helps!

    Hello nitai,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

GCS1102 MiniView DVI USB KVMP/KVMA, 2-Ports comes with 2x KVM cables.
Connect one cable to your PC and to CPU1 connectors on the back of the KVM switch.
Connect the 2nd cable to your Mac and to CPU2 connectors on the back of the KVM switch.
Then connect your monitor, keyboard and mouse to the connectors marked CONSOLE on the back of the KVM switch.
And that's it - you are all set!

    Hope this helps!

    Hello Nitai,

The link you provided brings up GCS1102 which is not a KVM switch that supports two screens, so we are not clear on the problem you are encountering.

    Please advise.

    Hi Nitai,

Thanks for getting back with us, but we're still not clear on what you're looking to accomplish, so please answer the following questions:
    1) Does you PC have two video outputs?
    2) What type video output(s) does your PC have?
    3) Does you Mac have two video outputs?
    4) What type video output(s) does your Mac have?
    5) How many monitors do you want to have in your KVM console?
    6) When you switch to the PC using your intended KVM switch - What would you like to see on your console's screen(s)?
    7) When you switch to the Mac using your intended KVM switch - What would you like to see on your console's screen(s)?

    Please advise.

Thanks, Nitai - this is helpful! :)

Click here to see what we mean by console.

    Please advise the following:
Assuming you are referring to USB Type-C - Please describe what adapter/cable are you currently using to connect your Macbook Pro to your KVM switch (a picture would also be helpful).

I told you I didn't connect it to a kvm because what I bought didn't fit.
So I connected the macbook direct to the screen.
I will send a photo later

    Hi Nitai,
When you previously reported that you "bought GCS1102 and it didn't help" we assumed you tried to connect your Macbook Pro to your KVM switch.

GCS1102 supports DVI. You will need a USB-C to DVI adapter in order to connect your Macbook Pro to your KVM switch.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Nitai,

To connect your systems to your GCS1102 KVM switch...
    1) Use one of the cable-assemblies that came with the GCS1102 KVM switch to connect the CPU 1 port of the switch to your PC. Make a DVI connection, a USB connection and optional audio connections.
    2) Connect a USB-C to DVI adapter to one of your USB-C ports on your Macbook Pro. Then connect the DVI connectors of the other cable-assembly that came with the GCS1102 KVM switch to the adapter and to the DVI connection on CPU 2 port of the KVM switch.
    3) Connect a USB 3.0 Type-C to Type-B Adapter-Cable to one of your USB-C ports on your Macbook Pro. Then connect the USB Type-B connector to the USB connector of CPU 2 port of the GCS1102 KVM switch.
    4) Connect your DVI monitor to the DVI connector on the Console port of the GCS1102 KVM switch using a DVI male-male cable.
    5) Connect your USB keyboard and USB mouse to two USB Type-A ports on the Console port of the GCS1102 KVM switch.
And you are all set :)

    Hope this helps!
