IP ATEN CN9950 Latency

Discussion in 'KVM' started by Vlad A. Skrbic, Apr 13, 2022.

  1. Can someone let us know what the latency of this unit is?
Assuming the remote user is on the same LAN connected via 1000-BaseT Ethernet connection (not working from home)? We'd like to know how much 'lag' this unit has as the software we are going to use with this is pretty latency-sensitive.

    Thank you!
    V.

    Hello Vlad,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

ATEN expects CN9950 to delay video three or four frames. That's both at 1080p and 4K @ 30Hz.
CN9950 would also use, at most, 200Mbps bandwidth.

    Hope this helps!

  3. That is great to hear!
Any info on the latency in [ms] when it comes to moving the mouse around or typing really fast? Hehehe :)
    Thanks!
    V.

In terms of ms, we're looking at 50ms to 150ms.

  5. That's awesome!
Thank you so much for your quick responces.
We've ordered one and can't wait to hook it up to our server when it arrives.
Have a great rest of the week.
    V :)
