Which is the closest equivalent to ATEN CS1004:

    ATEN CS1754 or ATEN CS84U?

ATEN CS1004 was a PS/2 KVM switch, meaning it supported PS/2 computers AND PS/2 keyboard/mouse at the user console.

Both CS84U and CS1754 support PS/2 computers. But...

If you still need to use a PS/2 keyboard/mouse at the user console, then the switch for you is the CS84U (CS1754 does not support PS/2 keyboard/mouse at the user console, only USB).

If you can use a USB keyboard/mouse at the user console, then you could use either CS84U or CS1754 .

CS1754 is designed more for data-center applications that require higher level of reliability, whereas CS84U is designed for desktop applications.

Otherwise, there are major differences between the two models. CS1754 includes the following features whereas CS84U does not:
    - Audio support
    - On screen display (OSD) for quick computer selection
    - Rack-mountable
    - Included power supply

On the flip side, CS1754 does not come with cables (they must be purchased separately - compatible cables are listed at the bottom of the product page) whereas CS84U comes with cables included.
