    Hello,

I purchased the ATEN CS22DP switch and noticed there is quite a delay when switching from one PC to the other - is that normal or is there something I can do to mitigate that? Are there switches out there that are quicker at switching?

    Hello Nicole,

Thank you for reaching out and sorry for the delayed response.

Yes, this is quite normal for DisplayPort. The DisplayPort protocol is very involved (more so than HDMI, for example), and so it requires to perform many different tests and checks when establishing a handshake between a source (computer) and a display. A handshake needs to be re-established every time you switch from one source to another using your KVM switch. This process takes a bit longer with DisplayPort systems, being that it is very involved.

Yes. HDMI KVM switches are typically quicker.

    Hope this helps!
