What kind of output is the single outlet for L/R analog audio, and how is it converted to either standard red and white RCA plugs or balanced XLR plugs?

The de-embedded L/R analog audio output is a 3.5mm connection, which can be connected to a standard Red/White RCA connectors by using an adapter like these.

[IMG]This KD-HD4x1ProK has two additional ports for the de-embedded audio:
    - Digital audio via coax/RCA: Uses S/PDIF format and supports 2 ch. PCM, Dolby DTS
    - Digital audio via optical: Uses S/PDIF format and supports 2 ch. PCM, Dolby DTS
