LCD Console KVM drawer rail clearance issue

Discussion in 'KVM' started by Brian T C, Jan 3, 2024.

I am trying to rack mount a keyboard/monitor drawer in the top RU of a rolling rack with mounted rails. However, the depth from the rack rails to the front of the rack is 3", meaning there must be at least 3" of clearance from the KVM rack ears to the back of the monitor when extended, otherwise the monitor will not open fully. I am trying to find a new KVM model that will fulfill this requirement, or open to other solutions. Thank you

    Hello Brian,

Thank you for reaching out on our HelpCenter.

Before we can point you in the right direction, we need some additional information about your setup:
    1) Are you looking to connect this LCD KVM Console Drawer to a) one computer? or b) multiple computers? (i.e. have a KVM switch integrated with the LCD KVM Console Drawer)
    2) What type of video connection(s) does the connected computer(s) have? (e.g. HDMI; DisplayPort; VGA; DVI)

    Please advise.

One Computer, no switch needed. HDMI connection preferred, or DP

We were able to confirm with ATEN that these two single-rail LCD KVM Console Drawers support the 3-inch clearance you need.

    Hope this helps!
